'The best money I've ever spent on my continuing education as a designer'

"I am typically the only woman on the jobsite, to say that this has been a challenge would be an understatement!

Over the years I've managed to cobble together my own standard operating procedures and carve out a niche and method of working with contractors and crews to achieve a level of success, but it hasn't been easy and I've often found myself wishing there was a teacher or a book that I could reference to make sure that I was doing things at the highest industry standard and charging what I was worth.

I was thrilled when I found this course, as it ticked all of those boxes-and more.

It has given me the guidance that I've been looking for, new insights into construction management best practices, and a stronger belief in myself when making the tough calls. Finally, Renee is not just talking the talk but walking the walk; if you have any questions or comments she is responsive and supportive.

I've taken lots of courses over the years, and this one has truly been some of the best money I've ever spent on my continuing education as a designer!"

-Britta Butler

'It's great to have a seasoned professional share her experience'

"I joined the course looking for a structure to work within. Documents and forms to help streamline my work and communicate with all stakeholders. I love construction and architecture but these real boots-on-the-ground skills (knowing the phases and requirements of each + managing a construction project) are not taught! I realize that I spent WAY too much time trying to figure out efficient systems but come out exhausted and frustrated because it is not my expertise!! (the systems part)

The course has been tremendously helpful for organizing a work-flow. I studied design and worked with a wonderful old school decorator in my early years but I didn't have a good system to copy. I have figured it out on my own along the way over the years. It is great to have a seasoned professional share her experience. It also is great to feel supported by someone who knows what she's doing!

This program is full of actionable material especially for someone who hasn't jumped into a construction project yet, but wants to.  It is robust enough too for those of us who are already involved with construction but need some help with structuring and efficiently running our side of a project."

-Ellen Foley Broccolo

What If Your Next Construction Project Felt Like This?

Inside The Designer’s Edge, you won’t just learn how to manage a job site—you’ll learn how to lead it.

✔️ Price your projects with confidence
✔️ Set clear expectations from day one
✔️ Stop scope creep before it starts
✔️ Communicate with authority
✔️Run construction projects with less stress and more profit—so you can actually enjoy the work!

This isn’t a passive course. It’s a done-with-you program designed to support you every step of the way.

Raise your hand if any of these describe you:

  • You are incredibly talented with design but have no clue how to manage a construction project
  • You are making little-to-no profit on design-only projects and feel exhausted and stuck
  • You are intimidated and overwhelmed on job sites and feel like you are pretending to be prepared
  • You know you can do this but can’t find the right guidance to help you get to the next level

I have been in this same place and I promise you there is a better way.

Imagine managing construction projects with clarity, confidence, and calm.

Where your role is respected.
Your time is protected.
And your designs come to life exactly the way you intended.

This is what happens when you have the systems, support, and strategy to lead—without second guessing or burning out.

You didn’t become a designer to feel like a project assistant.

The Designer’s Edge gives you the tools to run construction projects profitably, build stronger client relationships, and grow a trusted network of industry partners who value what you bring to the table.

'Renée's course put me on the fast-track.'

“Before I met Renee I was just getting by... I lacked the confidence and the skillset and knew there was so much more I could learn and bring to the table as a value to my clients and contractors. Renee's course really put me on the fast-track. I was able to eliminate so many mistakes just by implementing her teachings right away.”

-Virginia DesRoches

'Renée’s course is a no-brainer.'

Renee’s course is a no-brainer for anyone new to the construction side of design. It’s also a great reinforcement of knowledge for everybody who’s been doing renovations for years, yet may be questioning their own authority &/or process. I’ve already referred a few industry friends to the program, so if that doesn’t say I believe in Renee’s content, I don’t know what does!

Given my technical background & construction management experience, Renee’s program was just what I needed when those sneaky voices of self-doubt were speaking. The piece of her program that has been the most influential for me are her email templates outlining how to “cold call” architects and other industry professionals to gain leads. Renee’s program was just what I needed to remind me that I am the professional my clients know I am.”

Ali Reuter

'This course has opened my eyes to an entire opportunity for income I was not capitalizing on.'

"I have family in the construction industry, so I have been on jobsites since I was a kid and have always been interested in construction. But interest doesn’t translate to the skills and ability to manage in an efficient and professional way.

With so many of my current projects entailing kitchen renovations and refreshes, I was seeing the need for support in how to work as a team with my contractors versus micromanaging the project.

So much of my focus can be on the design and the implementation and closing or finishing well can easily become an afterthought. This is one of the main areas of irritation with new clients who have worked with designers in the past, is they have great designs and they like the results, but at the end, the projects did not close well.

The emotional process and journey a client goes on was one of the biggest lightbulb moments for me. Not only have I been able to utilize this knowledge in interacting with my clients positively the day I learned it, but I have also been able to educate my contractors in the process of a project and especially in closing a project well.  One project, this knowledge informed when to encourage a client to move back into their home and avoiding a less than positive close to a long standing very large project.

This course has opened my eyes to construction management and an entire opportunity for work I was not capitalizing on."

Dusti Jones

'Everything you need to know is in the course'

"Taking Renee’s construction management for designers course helped boost my confidence when it came to working on renovations. I feel like everything you need to know is in the course, and I particularly liked the video conference calls when you get to learn from other’s experiences. Highly recommend to any designer’s out there who are unsure when working on the job site."

'This insight has been invaluable in helping me price my projects confidently'

"You’re just amazing and I get so much out of calls with you - you’re very giving and easy to talk with - you’re like another designer friend who has a lot of experience who is willing to share all of it with us so that we don’t make the same mistakes you made.

Taking your construction management course truly opened my eyes to the reality of how much time each phase of design in a construction project actually takes. This insight has been invaluable in helping me price my projects confidently and set realistic expectations with my clients.

I have also gained a much deeper understanding of the phases of construction and what to expect with each one, which has made me more knowledgeable on project sites. Your course helped me see the big picture, and your expertise and confidence have inspired me to view myself as an equal to contractors and architects—something I struggled with before.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and empowering designers like me to grow in this field. Your course has made a significant impact on my approach to projects, and I am truly grateful!"

Katie Rainey

'I am more confident!'

"I purchased the course lookning for confidence, what to ask and what to do on the job site - the things that were not taught in school. Renée emphasizes and reminds us we are a part of a team. Respecting all the trades and valuing everyone, especially yourself and where we fit in the equation as designers. This is an attitude of humility that allows everyone on the team to feel comfortable and share what is needed to move toward the common goal, a delighted client. Just from my first project, I feel more confident in handling the rest."

Sherry Hayes

'You cannot compare the course to the podcast.'

“I listened to your whole podcast, from start to finish in 2 months. All 137 episodes of it it was at that time. And they were all fantastic, there is no doubt about that. But you cannot compare the course to the podcast. It’s not comparing apples to apples. Given that a lot of us work on our own the podcast is a great audio opportunity to stay connected to a person such as Renee who has more experience that we do (who is willing to share the information and the experience) and allows us an opportunity to ‘hear the language’. Whereas the course helps you actually put the processes in place in your business to be more efficient and to be your profit margin. If you only rely on the podcast - you’re limiting yourself and the growth of your business if you don’t actually invest in the course and rely just on the podcast alone.

-Tracy Laqua

'I quickly gained my return on investment within months.'

"I have worked in the Home Industry for over 30 years & come from a family background of Contractors. I began my Interior Design Company 2 years ago & found my comfort zone in Renovation Management since I have basic knowledge & established relationships with Trades through my family.

I quickly learned while having those relationships gave me an edge, it was not enough to run a successful business. I needed someone with experience who could help guide & give me the confidence I needed to be taken seriously by new Contractors I was looking to partner with so I could show them the value I could bring.

Renee’s course was exactly what I needed. I implemented her lessons & strategies & quickly found myself not only elevating the client experience but getting positive feedback from Contractors & Architects who were quickly referring me to their clients. They expressed how they appreciated the organization, communication & value I brought and expressed how they love having our firm as an additional support to theirs.

I quickly gained my return on investment within months & have gained a great relationship with Renee as she is always available to answer my questions when I have them. I can’t thank her enough for her contribution to this industry & her innate ability to always find topics that are relevant for me to continue implementing each & every week."

Virginia DesRoches

'I do not have the resources to shadow another designer or learn on the job - this course is replacing that for me!'

'Thank you for creating a great course and for being a resource for me! My goals were to learn more about how to manage a remodel project from start to finish. I feel that this course gave me more than just a list of what to do. Renee gave real examples and actually taught me how to do each step. For example, instead of just saying review floor plans she had actual modules walking through how she does it!

Thanks to the course I now feel confident in looking at floor plans and explaining to clients what to expect during the remodel process. I also can confidently speak of my value during a remodel and how I work with contractors during the process.

I would recommend this course to any designer that is looking into doing more remodel projects!

Thank you for providing this course. There is no other course like this on the market!! I do not have the resources to shadow another designer or learn on the job so this course is really replacing that for me! Thank you for the confidence to take on these projects and really niche into the field of reno management! I have had contractors tell me already, WOW you can help with that too?!!

LET'S DO THIS!

'This course is the complete package'

"This course is the complete package when it comes to learning what it takes to manage construction projects! As a new designer, I wanted to make sure I had the technical knowledge and skills to ensure a good project outcome.

At the same time, so much of doing this work well involves relationships, including how to partner with contractors, architects, etc. And this relationship-based work is extremely nuanced. For example, how do you hold the vision for the design of the project and manage the overall process, but not MICRO manage contractors or others on the team. It's not an easy task! This course tackles the technical and relationship-based aspects of this work in equal measure and has been so helpful to me.

In addition, Renee also includes an entire module on business management, including pricing and marketing. I keep coming back to these lessons as I work to hone my messaging and connect with industry partners. I would add that I have come across A LOT of interior design business coaches and trainings over the past few years. However, I haven't found anyone else who is guiding and supporting designers specifically in the areas of renovation and construction. I am so grateful to have found Renee and this course as I launch my own design business."

-Marisa Zappone

'The templates alone are gold'

I had been listening to Renee’s podcast for over a year. In 2020 I took a residential renovation project management course but at that time in my business, I knew I wanted to take on larger projects but I knew there were things I didn’t know in respect to construction, and it was a great place to start but the course price was low, and like anything, you get what you pay for. It was a good start for me but it was (what I now know - an extra light version of your course). I took what they taught and put that into practice for a couple of years but every 2-3 years max I go through all of my systems and processes in my business and see where there are opportunities to increase efficiencies and what that looks like because at the end of the day we all want to make more money right? And I believe that increasing these efficiencies helps increase your profit margin.

I also felt like there were often experiences on the jobsite where things didn’t go as smoothly as they could have, and it’s easy to point the finger at somebody else, but I have learned that when you point the finger at yourself there are many more pointing as yourself. So I ask myself - what was my role in this, what can I improve, and how can I prevent this from happening ever again

And what I learned is that I still had gaps in my knowledge in construction management knowledge at that time, which meant it put me in a position of vulnerability with contractors and trades, in not knowing whether or not what they were telling me was correct. And I didn’t like that.

Then a design friend of mine told me about your podcast. And I listened, to all of them! And I realized that there was still a lot that I didn’t know. And a lot of it was templates - going back to my love for processes. And one of my big blocks was knowing what to communicate and having the templates in place to support the process. And when I looked at your course I thought - wow, in my opinion, the templates alone are gold. The whole course is really great value for the investment. I most definitely recommend it!

'The best course I've ever taken'

"I want to tell you that this is the best course I've ever taken. I'm kind of a course addict. I've invested a lot over the years because I believe a business can always be improved and I know that I don't know it all. While I always learn something, I'm often disappointed.

Many course are very conceptual and don't dive into the actual execution. Your course does both. I understand the concepts but you give actual application steps and insight. Also, the structure is perfect. Each module is the perfect length. I can tackle 1 or 2 if I don't have much time, or I can do a deep dive and cover an entire section."
